Certified Assisted Living Management Course: Session Contents
Regulations Session
— 8-hour training on the Texas licensing standards. This course includes updates and proposed changes to the licensing standards. Legislative changes are also covered.
Continuing Education Session
— 12-hour continuing education training on management of assisted living facilities. This course covers the State’s required content for management training. Training topics include: resident characteristics (including dementia), resident assessment and skills working with residents; basic principles of management; food and nutrition services; federal laws, with an emphasis on the Americans with Disabilities Act’s accessibility requirements; community resources; ethics, and financial management.
Full Manager's Course
— 24-hour continuing education training on management of assisted living facilities. This course covers the State’s required content for management training, including the Regulations session. Training topics include: resident characteristics (including dementia), resident assessment and skills working with residents; basic principles of management; food and nutrition services; federal laws, with an emphasis on the Americans with Disabilities Act’s accessibility requirements; community resources; ethics, and financial management.

CLASS HOURS:
Login (via Zoom) or sign-in (in-person) between 7:30 AM - 8:00 AM(Central Time)
Classes: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Central Time)
(if attending 12-hour session, attend all day Tuesday and 8:00 to noon on Wednesday)
Self-paced study hours to be completed on TORCH University.
REFUNDS AND CANCELLATIONS
TORCH does not refund course payments or fees of any kind. If the event is cancelled, or if the registrant must cancel, any registration fees paid are credited to the registrant's account, minus any applicable cancellation fees, and may be applied to another scheduled seminar, conference, storefront purchase, or other billable item. Payment is due with the registration. (Attendees must be present for the entire session to receive their certificate.)
STUDENT STANDARDS
TORCH reserves the right to refuse to issue a certificate when an attendee does not satisfactorily complete the course. This may include such reasons as failure to attend the entire session; or failure to comprehend the course content, based upon a written test, when a test is given.
