Kimberly Rodriguez, the founder of Action Over Words (AOW), a nationwide consulting firm that specializes in assisted living and adult care programs. She has several decades of experience in the senior care industry and a personal background rooted in family-run senior living facilities. Her family also invested in real estate with the focus on maximizing underutilized real estate property.
Kimberly has a deep understanding of the operational and regulatory challenges that come with running care facilities. Her expertise spans case management, and compliance. Before launching AOW, Kimberly became a Resident Relations Director at Atria Senior Living, focusing on case management and resident satisfaction, then led the United Way's Community Resource Center, providing services for community housing and individuals facing challenges including re-entry, sobriety, domestic violence, and homelessness. Kimberly later worked as an assisted living and adult Licensing Inspector for the Department of Social Services for nearly a decade. She attended Virginia Commonwealth University and received a bachelors of Psychology. In addition, she has obtained over 40 Certifications issued by the Department of gerontology which includes Alzheimer, dementia, individualized service planning, transfer trauma, depression, behavioral & mental health, and other diagnosis of the aging population.
Through Action Over Words, Kimberly and her team offer support and assistance to real estate investors, owners, and operators who provide housing for geriatric and adult programming. In addition, her team currently handles over 50 owner operators within Texas alone and provides services to include tax abatement and representation, special use permit & zoning representation and consultation, education, training, and proposals for property bidding acquisition, hand-holding services from A to Z with full all-inclusive assisted living operations startup support.
In addition to consulting, Kimberly is an active real estate investor, having completed over a dozen property transformations to support adult care programs. Kimberly is a dedicated advocate for the assisted living community through compliance, handling appeals, corrective action plans, policy audits, and rapid recovery support for citations. Kimberly also provides training and education to regulatory officials, including fire marshals, attorneys, and economic planning committees, to help them understand the licensing requirements for various housing types, such as boarding homes, residential assisted living facilities (RALs), group homes, and independent living. Despite being legally deaf since 5 years old, Kimberly strives to provide her clients with the highest quality care and support, fostering a warm and welcoming environment where they feel valued and empowered to achieve their dreams.
