John Darby serves as the CEO of the Texas Organization of Residential Care Homes (TORCH). He holds the Certified Assisted Living Manager credential and owns seven small assisted living facilities in central Texas.
He was honored by the Business Examiner’s inaugural “40 Under 40” Emerging Leaders list and was honored by The Olympian’s “Leaders for the 21st Century”. John is a 1997 graduate of the University of Washington and earned a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Concordia University. He graduated with the 2001 Leadership Thurston County class and later earned his Six Sigma Green Belt.
In 1999, John was elected to the City Council in his hometown, McCleary, WA, where he also served as Mayor Pro Tem. Later he was elected to the Lacey City Council and served 8 years on the City Council and as Deputy Mayor.
He and his wife of 24 years, Liz, reside with their two children, Nathan – 21 & Hannah – 18 in Hutto, Texas.
